Great review Andrew!!

Ray's DVD's and Authoritative Helicopter Manual were some of the best investments I made in this hobby.

Hi Barracuda,
Great review, I have all 6 discs and as a newbee found them fantastic.
The 'kissie kissie' term is now a standing joke at home, but he makes the point well.
I had an experienced heli pilot fly my Titan yesterday, the first person other than me to fly her, and he said she flew very well. All credit goes to Rays DVD set.

I just got the new Electric DVD series that just came out. MOST EXCELLENT@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ray goes through how the battery cells work together and proper charging. Things I was just taking for granted, but very informative. He goes over the DX6 and DX7. He features the Blade CX2 and the Blade CP Pro briefly as well. It actually shows him flying which I did not see in the earlier DVD series of his that I have. If you are new to Helis, you have to get newest Electric Heli Series. It is a must have. He has soooooo many tricks and tips that its unbelievable. I cant say enough how much I really enjoyed it. I got it last night when I got home from work and I watched the whole thing in one sitting. 5 hours worth of Heli tweaking. I am going home from work tonight and I am going to watch the whole thing again. He really covers Program mixes with ECCPM which I did not understand and some other features of programming the tx. I mean this thing is top notch. Go Ray.

This video series will help anyone who is interested in flying electric helis. Especially if you opt to get a good Spectrum tx. He really focuses on the DX7 which is what I chose to buy based on the larger display. I figured it would be easier to understand the settings if I could actually see the pitch and throttle curves. Still learning though. I you are a new heli flyer and you have purchased an MX series heli, GET THE VIDEO SERIES!!!!! It will probably save you some money in the long run. Enjoy the vids Barracuda. Money well spent

Its important to know why things work. Ray breaks it all down very well , where finless bob shows you what he does. Between both of those guys you can build a solid knowledge base. The SIM paid for itself in the first ten minutes of learning to become a Pilot. Ray and Bob turn you into a mechanic. Money well spent i say.

The new edition of Ray's book is out - I received my (signed) copy on Tuesday.

"SHOP & FIELD COMPANION
264 pages with over 600 photos and 114 illustrations!
Widely considered the "Model Helicopter Bible" for the past 20 years.
This edition has been extensively revised to include eCCPM and electric heli information, along with all the latest tips and techniques.
The book is fully compatible with Ray's DVDs, and is meant to go hand-in-hand with them."

"At 264 pages, the new book has over 20 more pages of additional content, along with an extensive index. In addition to the time-proven material carried forward from the previous book, the new edition features information on eCCPM, electric helicopters, and the new 2.4 GHz radios."

It is unbelievably good value for money and in my humble opinion an absolute must have for anyone interested in model helicopters.

I have the 2005 printing of Ray's manual. Are the extra 20 pages worth $50?
