I'm gonna be there Friday, Saturday ans Sunday. I've had my tickets since April. I splurged and bought the flightline ticket for Saturday. Have grandstand tickets for the other two days. I'll be wearing the black hat w/ the Marine Corps emblem and "VMI '66" on the side. Looking forward to this one.

Nice looking 51's, Keep'em Coming!! We have along way to go to reach a 100
(we have to put this in perspective here to get an idea of just what 100 51's look like!)
Hard to imagine what 100 HeavyMetal P-51's would look like sitting all together?? WOW!!
and all for $25 what a deal that is!

Willey,

RE: ATTENTION ALL P-51's - The Gathering of P-51 Mustangs and Legends
Hi All,
Here's my Platt version 82" wing , Moki 180 ...........but , had only 12 months of flying ( about 40 flights ) before a snap at the bottom of a loop saw it killed ...Now into flying a KMP Spitfire, very nice, but the P51 is still my favorite. !! I will make another one soon, but not a Platt, ....too complicated ( and heavy ) for a second time around. Thinking of refinishing a CMP 140 version and fixing the unscale undercarriage...they have a very scale fuse.
Good luck with getting the posts.
Cheers,
M.M.

Merlinman,
I'm working on a 140 CMP right now too. I agree its pretty scale, but it takes a lot of work to get the more accurate scale outlines on the wing to make it look better. The link to my mods (kind of making them up as I go) is at:

Willey,
Thanks, I don't seem to be able to post more than 1 picture at a time( but that's ok, it's a touch tragic posting pictures of demised model anyway !! ) However, I am happy to pass on more details of this model if anyone wishes.
Oosiksmith, yes, I have been looking at your thread, you are doing a top job, and I will keep watching. Is it a matter of getting longer u/c struts and adjusting the wheel wells to suit ? ( sounds easy if you say it quickly !! ) Mind you, after building a Platt P51, anything sounds easy !!!!
Cheers
