I have a CEN Genesis (old style). I just replaced the clutch bell and got it all back together. It has been sitting for a while. When I got it out, it wouldn't start. I have 4 other nitro cars, so I am not new to the hobby, but this thing is frustrating me. I can take loose the fuel line and it pumps just fine, butwhen I reattach it, it doesn't seem to get fuel. I have a new glow plug, charged glow sarter and it still won't start. I tried to poor fuel into the carb to prime it and that didn't work either. I have the setting back to factory and that didn't work. Any help would be apperciated.

if its not getting fuel then its a few things the idle screw is too closed and the low speed needle it too lean. i would try that first then if it still dosent start then there is either rust or crud in the engine. this is how i start mine with the controller in the same hand holding the igniter on the truck give it full throttle and with the other hand pull the pullstart. if it does start and you let off the gas then it dies its either the idle too low or the low speed needle too low. if its whinning out like a high pich noise its too lean if its spitting raw fuel and oil it either flooded (will stop after a while)or too rich on the" lsn".

I used 3 different plugs and none of them worked. They all check out good. It would try to start, after I poured fuel into the carb, but then it would just carnk and crank. I have never seen one not start when fuel was poured into it. Could it be the fuel tank not sealing? or bad fuel lines. When I plug the exhaust, and disconnect the fuel line, it pours fuel out. When I reattach it, it doesn't seem to get fuel. I also changed from pull start to roto start since the last time I ran it because the pull start broke. Could this be the cause?

Things I would check: O-ring and spring on the fuel tank lid, back plate seal after the change to roto start, and check to see that the carb itself is not dirty or fouled after sitting for a while. Needle tuning will not help out a fouled carb much. Good luck and don't give up!

how long has it been sitting? could be the fuel, also see if theres any fuel leaks check for wetness and still change the fuel lines.

it sounds like the idle is too low or the carb is closed and its not starting. pull the air filter off and see if there is a open gap. the carb should always be open a little. if its open and still not starting then there might be something else wrong.check your clutch bell see if it spins freely if it dosent then you may have broken some shoes and need replacing.there arent that many things that will stop this engine or other 2 strokes from running. 1 air filter may need to be cleaned and re oiled, 2 check your clutch shoes, 3 check your idle gap it should be between 1 and 2 mm, 3 the o ring on the tank, 4 your low speed needle. thats pretty much it. if you want spray some wd40 in the carb opening that should get rid of some crud in the engine them rinse it with after run oil to get the wd40 out . hope this helps
