Hey Eric,
What distance should the Falcon tail cone (or any other part I can get a measurement from) be from the opening of the actual pipe on the Flash?
Thanks.

Hi Mark. . .

Good Question and I will post our recommendations for all to read.

Happy New Year and the best to you and your family . . .

Distance measured from the outer nozzle to the entrance of the actual pipe is:
Super Bee: Minimum 20mm (3/4") / maximum 25mm (1")
Falcon: " 25mm ( 1" ) / " 31mm ( 1 1/4")
Super Eagle " 25mm ( 1" ) / " 31mm ( 1 1/4")
Rhino " 30mm ( 1 1/4") / " 38mm ( 1 1/2")

Additionally, we are finding through testing using installed ByPass assemblies, if you leave the top half (half toward you) of the ByPass off, each turbines performance increases quite nicely as compared to a completely enclosed ByPass. Just FYI. . .

Thanks Eric,
What is the cause of the increase with the top half of the by-pass off? More air (for the pipe), better cooling?
Is this unique for the Flash?

Hope you and your family have a Great New Year!

I believe with the top or 1/2 of the bypass removed, the turbine simply gets more air. While max RPM settings with and without 1/2 of the bypass are the same, performance is very definately better. I have tested on the Flash, MB-339, Skymaster L-39 and Skymaster Hawk all with the same results. . .hope this helps.

Happy New Year to all. . .

Excellent tip Eric! Recently, I wasn't too impressed with the vertical authority of my Eagle powered Flash and accepted that it must be the weight at takeoff. After removing the top half of the by-pass, totally different animal. Unlimited vertical...the Eagle is a beast and has not failed me for 12 flights now! Never thought a poorly designed by-pass could kill the output of these turbines. Thanks again!
