Default Remote Start Jato

I ordered a starter box for my Jato and was about to remove the EZ-Start motor, gearbox, wire harness and get rid of that weight. Then I thought that until my Starter box arrives I should play with the idea of a remote starter using the EZ-Start controller assembly and the stock 2 channel radio.

I came up with a Very Inexpensive way to do a remote start.
It has a very high Wow factor around crowds of RC car-heads.
It's a little heavy. So gear down to compensate. I switched to a 22/56 while running the remote start.
A 3 dollar Micro Switch is all it costs...

The Video...

VERY NICE. Maybe you could run the flat pack in the middle and then maybe run the biggest pack you can fit in the rear to run the starter. Prolly wont last as long but will be a little lighter and wont have a giant 7.2v battery hanging on it.

I have the Traxxas receiver pack in the middle.

Originally I wired 6 AA NIMH Energizers for the remote start power. But they barely turned the motor over.
Lowest cost was the goal. So I used the stock NiCad from the controller.

The Micro Switch came from Radio Shack...$2.99.

I modded my engine a couple months back and it screams. The night of the Remote Start video my Jato was radar gunned at 68MPH with the 22/56 gearing.
This remote start is only temporary.
When my starter box arrives it's bye-bye to the remote start, EZ-Start system and a lot of other weight.
I am looking break 100MPH with the 3.3 motor.

It was about doing cheaply enough that anyone could do it.
It was never about buying the latest, lightest remote start stuff. Not Yet. that's a different car.

Thanks

Certainly don't want to keep the idea to myself.
I was hoping the video would make it clear enough.
Should it be more in depth?

Thanks for the comments

I took the black plastic EZ-Start controller apart and mounted it inside the car with the battery pack that powers it.
Then I wired a microswitch to the connection points of the RED button on the EZ-Start controller.
Next I mounted the microswitch close enough to the end of the brake rod so that when the Throttle trim on the transmitter is in center position the switch is not activated during braking.
But when the Throttle trim is all the way to the left the Brake rod activates the Microswitch during braking.
Watch the video again. If that doesn't help I will make a more in depth video for you.

So the way it looks from the transmitter.
To start the car you turn the Throttle trim all the way left.
Then you apply full brake (activating the switch and the EZ-Start controller).
Then the cars starts. Next you turn the Throttle trim back to center.
Then you give it the throttle and drive away.

Thanks for the interest.

I am doing the same thing to a T-Maxx on Friday.
I'll try to get some video and post it.

when you break fully, isn't the micro switch being pushed again which turns the starter motor while the engine is already running ?
