Because the FCC strongly frowns upon end users having access to the radio frequency section of their transmitter, we have been advised that 2.4 GHz transmitter antennas cannot be sold to end users. That's because you must directly access the output section of the transmitter. While the antenna uses a connector, it is a very small connector that must be installed exactly correct or it will not make proper contact. As a result, the FCC restricts their installation to approved service centers.

We are unable to directly sell 2.4 GHz transmitter antennas to modelers or hobby retailers because of this. To do so could incur sanctions and fines.

72/75 MHz antennas were intended to be removed and replaced by the end user in most cases. That is why they were generally available.
