check that the crystals are in properly inthe transmitter & receiver, also try swapping the batteries for another set (they may be duds). If that doesn't work try swapping the crystals with a friends if you can, the crystals may be dodgy.

also has the receiver been dunked? it may have water in it & need to dry out.

before putting the boat back in the water do a range chack on land to make sure the problem is fixed before you have a runaway boat.

Are you using a reciever pack? I have heard it recomended that you use one in the Super V if you are running 14 cells.
Just something to check out.

water inside the servo!!
I concur, 90% of my glitches can be attributed to water in the servo or a cellphone in my pocket. There's even one location where I cannot run my boat at all, something is on a similar frequency in the area.

So if I use a reciever pack do I just need to plug it in or is there some wires that need to be cut. What does the reciever pack do why with 14cells does it make a difference.

If you're using the stock AM radio that comes with it that is likely the source of the control problem. Many others have had this same issue without anything getting wet or any interference. This can be solved by replacing the stock radio with at least a quality FM radio system.

If you use a receiver pack you plug it into the BATT slot of your receiver. For your ESC plug you remove the middle red wire from the plug by lifting a tab on the plug and pulling it out and tying it back. This disables the BEC. It can simply be re-inserted in the plug if you want to use the BEC again.

The receiver pack powers your receiver and steering servo. The BEC function of your ESC steps the voltage from your main batteries down to 6V and uses this to power the receiver and steering servo. With input voltages too large (more than 12 cells) this functionality will not work properly which is why you need to use a receiver pack. Also you are more prone to radio glitches using the BEC.

Hope this helps.

Most likely it is the stock radio. Mine went nuts too. The boat took of WOT, went straight across the lake at full speed and impacted with the opposite shore. Have'nt had any probs since I bought a quality radio/receiver combo. I run my boat on 14 cells also, but the BEC works fine without the extra pack. Seems that some people are lucky, and some are not.

I don't think this problem is isolated to any specific manufacturer or model. I've been through 2 radios from Proboat and opted to use my XS3 Pro. The RS310 or RS300 is a small RX, no crystals - the Pro TX can program up to 10 diff models and you've got tons of adjustments.

I'd recommend grabbing an FM radio and using an RX pack.

I had the exact same problem after about 12 runs when I first got the boat. Here's how you fix it:

Open the radio box

Unplug the servo wire leading to the receiver

Unplug the ESC wire leading to the receiver

Pull the receiver out of the radio box.

Then throw the receiver and transmitter in the garbage (or drive over it with your car/pickup/semi/freight train etc) and replace them with a new FM transmitter and receiver.

Problem solved. Never a glitch again!

After I sunk my boat a few times the 7 cells I put into my boat right after I took them off the charger, it ran like crap so i think they need to cool down for at least a half hour till cooled. Also a blow dryer after it sinks. Today I let the batteries cool off the charger for about 45 min and the boat just screamed ran perfect but then I tried running it after taking the batteries right off of charge and it sucked again. So maybe let the batteries cool. The batteries put in right after the charge made the boat flip and sink.
I had 3 perfect runs with the 7 cells after I let them cool before putting them in.

I think you guys got the answers about 6 post ago,,,,,DON"T USE THE BEC WITH 14 CELLS! Hot off the charger problems reinforce the solution.
