Promoting the Hobby, Battle practice & new product
RCTankWars.com and A.T.A.C. have reserved a spot along Grand Ave & Kalmia St in Escondido California on Friday the 11th! We have a 10 x 20 ft space and our space has power available! It is located off of Kalmia St. North side of Grand Ave 3rd spot up!!! All Tankers are welcome to show up, and show your tanks & participate in mock battles! I am making up some props for this event, along with something special!
For more information see this link and feel free to e-mail me or PM with any questions?? Allie tanks needed but if all you have is Axis no problem please stop by if only for an hour!
http://www.downtownescondido.com/cruisin.html
Another Note:
RCTankWars will now be offering the X22 ESC board and Gruapner 280 motors for your Sdkfz 222/223
This is a drive board comes combined with a TLS and yes it can use the Blaster II!
Also I have a few of these figurines if anyone is interested!?

RE: Promoting the Hobby, Battle practice & new product
I had mentioned that I was going to have something special for the show on Friday! Well here is a peak at one of my projects...
I am converting this 105 mm Howitzer or AA Fixed Mounted gun in IR Tamiya compatible Battle system! It will be set for light, meaning 3 hits to kill it, but 3 second recoil, so this baby is going to do some damage before you get to it! It will be controlled but a transmitter and will have hit and fire sounds, a cannon flash and it may rock a little if my idea works out![:-] It will not elevate at this time I do not want to ruin the look of the body toy too much! You will be able to set the cannon b hand for different elevations or terrain scenarios, and it will have about a 300-degree traverse! Here are a few pics...

That's the Power Team Elite howitzer. I once thought to convert it into a IR target and make it work as a 'mission objective' in IR battles.

The Allies always seem to be out numbered so I thought this might help, and for those young kids that may not be able to control a tank very well, now they can get in the action!

That sounds like fun. Except for driving to Escondido on a Friday night. If it was a little closer.

Ya DAP is looks like you would have to take at least half a day off to make it without hitting rush hour, I understand! Can you make it to the SCAT Battle the following weekend?
Well here is my progress on the Howitzer to my horror I hooked it up wrong last night and blew the little sound card on the gun, really nice smoke though[X(][>:]
I really wanted to try and incorporate that though because then I would have not had to use the engines sound but that idea went up in smoke! But to quote a corny saying "When life gives you lemons you make lemonaide" I never like that saying but its premise is true, so all tested out well the unit gave and received hits and the cannon flash works nice it will have the heng long rock for a recoil, traverse works and of course the DBC/DBU IR battle system! Now I have to assemble it all, and try to hide the wiring as best as possible,, I have an idea for that!!

Thanks Matdragon,
Yes, I am keeping my eyes out for a truck and I could hide the electronics in it!! Actually to hide the electronics for now I am going to make a temporary placement where you just set it on the battle field at a strategic location!

Ah finally the 105 mm Howitzer gun is complete, well it is working good enough to show this Friday! Man this was not easy, I know I can make a few improvements when I make another one and hide the wire a lttle better! Also I have the first flashing 50 cal that is tied in to the Howitzer setup! If I get some of the other props done fast I may revisit the gun and get the recoil workngi but i have a few more surprise to get ready!
Here are a couple of videos of the Gun in action and some pictures...

RE: Promoting the Hobby, Battle practice & new product
Exhausted, but it was really worth all the effort and it all could not have went as good as it did without San Diego Steve,( skotsi on the forum ) actually I could not have done this with out him! There was a few times that the crowd completely surrounded the 20 x 30 foot battle area! As it turned out a couple of vendors back out so we had as much room as we wanted! I had already made the props kind of small on purpose so it would fit in a smaller area, but it worked out well! Not only was I showing the Hobby but let others try some of my tanks for $ 3.00 for a battle and I have not counted yet but I had at least 25 kids and adults who paid to try it out! My tanks held up well there are a few things I will do different, like little kids don't want the tank get slower after every hit they just want to battle!!!,
And the more delicate props that get stuck in the tracks have to go!
I figure it was a success when I had many people ask me if I was going to be there next week!
There was a lot of the local press, and passers by taking pictures, so it will be neat to see where those shots turn up!
I will load some pictures if someone can tell me how to shrink them I shot the pictures in such a high resolution that they are too big!

Some cameras allow you to resize on the camera itself (downsample) while the image is still on the memory card.
Alternatively you could just use [link=http://www.download.com/IrfanView/3000-2192-10021962.html?part=dl-IrfanView&subj=dl&tag=button]IrfanView[/link], [link=http://www.oldversion.com/download.php?idlong=1e9f92732e367a6d7f36f4034527fa 8a]Paintshop Pro[/link] *, [link=http://www.download.com/Paint-NET/3000-2192_4-10338146.html?hhTest=1&tag=lst-1&cdlPid=10861791]Paint.net[/link] or perhaps even an online resizer like [link=http://gui.picresize.com/picresize2/]Pic Resize[/link]

RE: Promoting the Hobby, Battle practice & new product
As a tip, keeping images between 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 will result in a small file size but perfectly visible to others, and viewable by even the slowest of dialup connections (56k). RCU resizes big images to 800x___ so they dont take up too much size on screen.
Remember, every 5kb of file is 1 second of wait for a 56k dialup user, so a 200kb file will take 40 seconds to load, which is a long time if you've got much faster net (even with my slow ADSL I can download 6mb+ in that timeframe)

Looks like fun, thank's for sharing
Btw, good job with the howizer and 50.cal!
I was thinking, wouldent it be possible to saw and cut in the (dont know what to call it) support legs that can be folded out on a real howizer and glue them in expanded position instead of folded transport position? And another ide is that maybe you could cover that black box up in a pile och ammo

Thanks Matdragon, it was a lot of fun, and a lot of work!
ManMachine those are great ideas, I was in kind of a rush to get it finished, and I could do some things to improve it! And when I make a second one I will route the wires a little different also, you know you always get an idea or 2 of how to do it better the more you do something!
Actually most everyhing you see in the photos, the funky 4 way stop light, the gun, the ugly homes, plus I added rear idler adjustment and new ESC board to my Tiger 1 and I added and IR battle system to my Bulldog and did a full isnpection on all of my tanks,,, all the week proceeding this event! I had the little army post setup and the bridges!
