Default Sonic Racing built CT03

Hey Guys,

You were all right that it was going to be a very major first up build. So after many many days scratching my head I have sent my MHZ CT03 hull and all bits to Danny at Sonic Racing Australia. I figured I had so much money tied up in this thing that I may as well get it built Right (ie not by me!) So Danny has started the build and I'll post pics as Danny sends them to me. Danny is also going to paint it up for me as Spirit of Norway.

Cheers
Kieran

For a size comparison, here is Kieran's CT03 next to my Genesis catamaran.

Cheers, Danny.

Danny's been a busy little beaver. He is currently finishing the 2 pac undercoat. He's built a nice jig to hold the boat. I'd be lying if I said i weasnt getting a little excited. Just for the record, Danny is a consumate professional, he has been keepin g me updated with emails and pics every few days. His work look great. But dont take my word for it. Check the pics.......l

Tony, They both have a standard pull starter fitted and the right engine has had its cylinder rotated 180 degrees. No counter rotation on this build so I will be curious to see what effect it has.

Cheers, Danny.

Hi Craig, Should be next weekend, just waiting on the inlet manifolds to finish it off. Boat weighs in at 13.5 kilos (30 pounds). I have also just about finished a plug for a 65" cat and hope to do the mold in the next week or two. It will accommodate singles, twins and quads and has a larger opening for much easier installations than the CT03 as well as the other copies going around.

Cheers, Danny.

Well the first test run was not as successful as I would have liked, Counter-rotation is a must so I have done the necessary mods including a pull starter and is ready for testing again this weekend. The alloy pipes were another major concern, plenty of water going through but still melted the O rings and distorted the headers beyond further use so I have also fitted a couple of my tried and tested steel pipes.

Cheers, Danny.

Interesting comment you make Danny, was the boat handling poorly with the same rotation motors?

Hey guys

Boat had its first proper run on the weekend with Danny. All went quite well still some minor things to sort. Am hoping to get down there this weekend for a play! Boat clocked 80kmh on GPS which is quite good for a brand new Boat, Engines etc. anny sent me a short video, check it out at.

Think that should work.

Thanks mate,
Danny has done a great job. I cannot take credit for any of it except the small fortune involved!!!! Props are 7016/3 L +R. Had to check my emails to find that out as I havent even seen the thing in the flesh yet.
