R617FS Questions
I have the R617FS Rx and I have two questions. The first question is that it says the receiver says that if you use dry batteries it will cause a malfunction. Could you please inform me on what I can use to power my receiver.
Second question is when I do get a battery connected how does the Tx find the Rx and tell it what to do. Further more if I have dual aileron servos do I need something so both of the connectors can go into channel one?
The plane is going to be electric but I would like to use a normal receiver batter that uses 4 AA batteries with a receiver connector to center the servos real fast and get stuff dialed in.
Thanks

HI, I HAVE A FEW OF THESE RX`S. I FLY ELECTRIC SO I DON`T BOTHER POWERING WITH THE RECEIVER PACK, JUST USE IT FOR INITIAL SETUP OF YOUR SERVOS.
I USE THE LI-PO PACK FOR MOTOR AND RX. THIS KEEPS YOUR WEIGHT DOWN TOO.
TO LINK YOUR TX TO YOUR RX YOU NEED TO PAIR THESE USING THE ID CODE.
FIRSTLY, PLACE YOUR TX NO MORE THAN A METER AWAY FROM YOUR RX. TURN ON THE TX. WAIT A FEW SECONDS....CHECK TO SEE IF THE LED ON THE BACK OF YOUR TX IS SOLID GREEN. TURN ON THE RX. PRESS DOWN THE "ID SET" BUTTON ON THE RX FOR MORE THAN 1 SECOND AND RELEASE.
IT NOW STARTS THE LINKING OPERATION.
WHEN TX AND RX ARE LINKED, THE LED ON THE RX WILL ALSO TURN SOLID GREEN.......AND YOUR DONE.
YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A SERVO " Y " LEAD TO LINK THE SERVOS.

RE: R617FS Questions
1. The reason for the statement is that dry cell batteries cannot supply the amount of current needed for the servos.
2.. When you power up the transmitter, it starts sending out a specific signal. You will press the Link button on the receiver, it locks itself onto that signal from the transmitter. It will stay linked to that specific transmitter until such time as you "relink" it to another transmitter.

RE: R617FS Questions
Dry cell batteries would be considered 'off the shelf' flashlight batteries... I don't know if I should mention brands, but the typical bunny rabbit batteries and the ones that have a copper top. NiMh or NiCd are not what they are referring to.

Yes, you can use NiMh or NiCd batteries with this. Just make sure that you do not go over 6Volts.

RE: R617FS Questions
Can we use A123 batteries with this receiver ? The A123 battery pack would be 6.6 volts. Since you mentioned that the voltage should not increase over 6 volts, i wanted to confirm if it would be safe to use these batteries.
Thanks for confirming.
