It's expensive to be sure but it's good stuff. To bad ultracoat doesn't sell paint to match their own colors.

The Monokote products match the colors of Oracover/Ultrcote products very well
I use the Lustrekote paints from Tower/Great Planes/Topflite

Take a sample of the covering to a paint store and get a quart of FLAT latex color matched (about $10). Spray it on, let it dry about 10 - 14 days, then clear coat with a high gloss ACRYLIC clear coat. Let dry for about 14 days. The end result will range from fuel resistant to fuel proof. As long as the color is a non metallic or non pearl coat you will have no problems getting an exact match.
I have found that as long as I remove the raw fuel immediately or the residue within 4 hours I have no problems. I have one plane that has had over a gallon to 10% nitro run through a Saito 72 and the paint is still fine,

Nelson Hobbies sells matching paint for the popular coverings:
http://www.nelsonhobby.com/paint.html
I've used it with the cross linker additive they sell, but since you are using gasoline, it may not be necessary. Scroll down half way down the page to see the color charts of the paint matching the coverings.

RE: Matching paint for Ultrcote
Ultracote makes their own spray paint to match their covering. It's called Ultracote. Check with Hangar 9 to find a hobby shop near you. Any of them that sells ultracote covering should sell their paint. You can buy it from TJ'S hobby shop in Sherwood, Ar. (501 833 8431) for $7.99 a can, plus tax. He has shipped to me for postage only, no pachaging or handling cost.
All I've used has matched perfectly.

The word I got on the Ultracote paints was they quit making it?? My LHS had a pretty good supply of it so I have been buying the colors that I use a lot of. The Lusterkote yellow matches the Ultra pretty well. I didn't have a clue that Radio South had paint, thanks a lot for the info!!!
