Very nice flying jet, but just make sure you do not get the nose up on landing. It will land very nice and slow with flaps, I even mixed in crow, and will be relatively predictable. Everyone that Ihave seen where someone try's to stretch the glide at all, or comes in with a nose high approach, has not ended with the greatest results.
Good luck, and enjoy your new jet

You should use two 8611A servos for the stabs.

Ihave watched this Hawk perform very well, but I would put crow in for landing (as has been said) the raised aileron will help to reduce the risk of tip stall.

I did my Hawk maiden yesterday, and, take off with half flaps, and a
little bit of up elevator was beautiful. Plane flies as everybody says, BUT,
it's not an easy plane to fly. Not a trainer. Coming down had problems with
the mains, but as stated before DO NOT deploy flaps on high speed, even though
I have speed flaps at 50% speed, the plane upon base tried to tip stall twice.
Could not take video, but for next one I'll take it.

Hector , what is the servo`s you have put for the flaps ?
i will fit on my elevators 2 Hitec 5595 (25kg) its will working good?
do you mixed only the flaps with the elevator for the landing and take off ? without the aleirons ? can you let us know the flaps should be down in (cm) with the mix of the elevator up in (cm) if you can determine that with the ruler :-)

Hi! Wing13; The maiden was uneventfull with 15 degrees flaps, and
tthe elevator slightly up. Do not apply full throttle from the begining, start
slowly. I did not mix anything, just went by the instructions from FeiBao
for the maual of the T-45 as C of G. I think the mm's given by them for full flaps is too much.
I have mine with a RAM 750 plus recntly overhauled by RTI. Almost all the flight
was done at half trhottle and flies beautifyl ( 23lbs. thrust.
I'll keep you informed.

Hi! Rich. I need to know how did you do the parameters for the crow.
As soon as I have the plane ready , I'll put it in. Because I placed
the external tank, the fuselage didn't suffer on landing, one of the mains
didn't come out.
Do you know who's making the cockpit for this plane?

Dave stated the following in post # 6:
So I was wondering if you used Daves suggestions.
I am still in the process of painting my FB T-45/Hawk so it's not ready for its second life yet.
My buddy flew his a week ago and suffered a flame out in the most unfavorable position (of course) he had to keep it straight and unfortunately that path put it setting down behind a drop in the runway where he lost visual, when it went out of sight it dropped a wing and went in, he now needs a new right wing panel and a one stab. The fuselage is repairable.
Dave stated the following in post # 6:

CG was right on 170mm
I mixed in just a slight bit of crow, probably about 1/8th of an inch with full flaps.

Eric at Jet Central says he has cockpits for just about every jet made by FeiBao and Skymaster.
Also I beelive that Wagner at RC Jet Models said he would be getting cockpits.

This past wekend gave 4 flights to my Fei Bao Hawk. My friend Frankie Mirandes
flew it and all bad habits were out. This plane is fitted with a Ram 750 plus and
takes off in approx. 250 ft. runway. Now for landing we have flight modes for
takeoff, and landing, so it modifies the elevator for both. A beauty landing,
no bad habits.

Rich: I'll look for them, and tell you as soon I get them. I use my JR 10X.
Let me tell you , no dropping of wings nor stall issues.
This is the plane your Flash seller built for me( avicom).

Hector that is Great,
I'm looking for numbers for:
1st Flap Setting (xxx mm or Inch down from level)
2nd (Landing Flap) setting (xxx mm or Inch down from level)
Is there any Elevator trim down in second flap setting? (xxx mm or Inch down from level)
How much Crow is set for 2nd flap setting? (xxx mm or Inch up from level airelons)
Where is your neutral set on your flying stab, i.e. is the trailing edge of the stab level with the top of the fuselage? (This was the way the JL T-45 was set)
Thanks

Hello there,
We have now many flights on our FB hawks and the settings are as follows.
we fly with the ailerons raised 3mm up in all flight modes (this creates kind of a "washout" effect) and have the wing leading edge fences installed (they are very important)
this will increase the AOA capabilities of the wing. We are able to do very small diameter loops with out the model snapping out.
The C of G is 185~190 from the leading edge at root. we use 40% expo on elevator and 25% on ailerons
The landing pattern is at 0 pitch until we make the runway and then only prior to touchdown we raise the nose 3 degrees up for flair.
Hope this helps
We have some videos and are working to load them up on youtube....
I hope you enjoy your hawks ,wish you many safe landings.

Rich: sent you a pm. I did'nt use crow. nor raised ailerons for washout. As for the C of G as per
instructions. Used only the wing fences for the Red Arrows. The T-45 has different ones. Only
15% expo. Elevator throw complete, but ailers. reduced substantially.
Lavi: waiting for your videos.
