Agreed, very nice!
I wish our local track here had propper clay. They bought truckloads of "clay" it gets delivered and it was a mix of clay and 3/8" rocks, like 50/50....

Dan from RC Product Designs put together a wide lane fairly mild track for next weekend's High School IVD Performance Day...

(this is the home location for the Washtenaw RC Raceway)

Here is the program summery: http://www.cef-trek.org/IVD.html

Mini IVD Racing - With Nissan’s support, twelve high school teams from around the state are busy testing and beginning the conversion of a complex gas-powered RC Hobby monster truck into an electric vehicle, compiling performance data while incorporating innovation! The project will culminate with a performance day at the track on May 30, 2009. Contact Barb at [email protected] for more information.

REAL NICE track I wish Icould tun my nitros on this some day!
Question (not related to this track): My local track is real dusty, has a lot of lose dirt is there an additive that is EPA legal to treat the track with like some kind of oil that would keep the track moist? We were thinking about getting some burned up cooking oil (like the stuff that restaurants throw away) but not sure how would it be. Has anyone tried anything like that? I'm in Oklahoma summer time weather is HOT (like 110+) and DRY. Before club races we do spray the track with water but it dries up in mere half hour or so.

ive heard of some tracks using soap. the guys at our track have thought of trying it. if we do ill let you know how it works. oil sounds interesting too.

I think that soap would eat up the tires and wouldn't be as moist either. I know that oil would definitely work, but only problem is epa and health dept would be all over us that we contaminated the ground. But if we use bio fuel like cooking oil then maybe they wouldn't have a problem with it.

You just build the track using the right type of Clay. Real chalky stuff, typically used as Pond Liner. Its initially tough to work with, but once in place, it's AWESOME.

No racing!! Why not?? Did you ever race at FTR?? I plan on attending all of the Dirtburner races this season. That track is pretty fast, hopefully they can keep the pump giong so we get water on the track, then we'll get somebetter lap times in.

I have heard from the old dirt track oval guys that you can use
calcium pellets. The story goes that you put them on with a
seed spreader. They are supposed to help alot with water
retention. Also try soaking it real well the night before a race
instead of trying to get it to absorb water during the heat of the
day.
