Fantastic job guys - looks like the wind was not your best friend on the day, despite that a very good landing..

Great sound - well done.

Looks great right to the point where the plane takes off heading towards people standing on the runway

Superb model... and not having to hand flip the props is outstanding too!

Very nice! It does appear to have controllable pitch propellors?

Bob you are correct!

Carl, holding the Tx during start-up, is the builder of the model and has made everything from scratch!
Engine is home made, partially with turbine parts from Wren.
The following parts are 100% selfmade in his own workshop:
[*]Eng. gearbox w/ Helical gears[*]Entire Fuse and Flying surfaces[*]Alu. casted Landing gear system (lost wax method)[*]Self feathering prop hub. No torque = feathered props[*]Wheel rims, mains w/ disc brakes[*]Moulded tyres w/ original side inscribsions. Air filled and shape is scale.[*]Spinners[/list]Plus numerous of other parts that I've forgotten.
    Simply an awsome achivement!

I havea shot of the feathering hub in action, it's really neat work by Carl

the only parts afaik. from wren are the two turbine wheels in each engine.

as far as the veering of on takeoff.
it was blowing 5-10 m/s from the right, about 20-45deg of the rwy
and with a new plane, with no knowledge about rudder effienciy beforehand- nice flying, with power to spare, takeoff was about 75% throttle

It was great to see the maiden of Carl's faboulous KingAir model!
It is a true piece of art, and Carl didn't even seem nervous at all (at last not showing it)

I managed to shoot some pictures of the maiden:
(It's Carl holding the TX in the first image, and the Pilot, Keld, is holding the tail)

Guys,

Beautiful plane, awesome achievement!

I do, however, question the intelligence of taking this plane on it's maiden flight with not only parked cars upwind, but people, walking up the right side of the runway! Had this plane veered right, due to any number of unknown reasons( this is the maiden flight, remember) serious damage might have been done to people and or property and we could be reading about the unfortunate R/C aircraft tragedy which occurred because the test pilot made a dumb decision!

Just my opinion,

David S

Truly excellent landing, by the way, with that cross wind!

Watching the engines start in "feather", just like a full scale PT-6, was really kewl!

That is worth a thread all by itself.

OUTSTANDING!!!

My son flies the real one and he picked out a lot of scale details that were excellently done....he said the start up sounds exactly like the real one when the props come out of feather... Only nitpik was the empty cockpit.....

Wayne,
the lack of details in the cockpit is probably because of the weight restriction we have here in Denmark, we have a weight limit of 25 Kg, I think the KingAir is very close to that, so the addition of details would probably make it too heavy..

Superb is all I can say. Twin turboprop is also on my wish list of models to own before I die. It was either this or a Twin Radial project for this season and I went for the Radial project instead [:@]
The King air was also on the shortlist of suitable models as well! I am still looking for a twin turboprop model that can be thrown around a little!
I masterpiece of modeling is the best way I can describe this one. Not sure I would have picked that colour scheme mind ( There are some much nicer Kings out there ) and the flying was a little.... interesting but congrats to all those involved.
Regards Al
