I have flown a full-span CG Cub for over 18 yrs.
First 14 yrs with a Saito .50( flies the plane very close to scale, with this motor the drag from your wings struts is very pronounced.).
Now I fly her with a Saito .65 and she is great with a bit of power for reserve....

I would choose the newer Saito .56.

The Saito .50 or .56 would be excellent choices, as would the .72 thru .91 engines.

I flew my CGM Cub with an Enya 80-4C (really a .74) and it was "just right" for my style of flying. Yes, it was a little over powered with the Enya 80-4C, but not ridiculously so. I believe that the CGM Cub would actually fly well with the OS FS-40 thru .52 four-strokes or the .40 thru .46LA two-strokes.

A Sanye (Magnum, ASP, SC) FS-52 thru .70, or even a .91 could be fun too. I've always wanted to obtain a Saito .60 thru 1.00 opposed twin for just such a model, but never got around to it.

I have flown the CG Cub with an O.S. .48, and .70 Fs engines. The little 48 flew it in a VERY scale like manner. Slow and easy on the controls. The 70 had power to spare. Flew great at 1/3 throttle.

Love the CG Cub!!!

When I was still training with the full span Cub as my second areoplane. my instructor and another was flyin clipped winged cubs with Enya .80s, seemed perfect for the clipped-wing.......

Mine flew very nice and scale like on a Saito .45

The aircraft is now in a (very slow) process of being recovered and re-engined.

Mine has an OS .70 Surpass in it, which I feel is much more than enough. If I were to do it again, I might use a .52 - .56 four stroke, depending on your elevation above sea level.

I liked the 70 because it gave it that extra oomph for floats
