Saito .72 plastic backplate reinforcement

Howdy Saito lovers. The badly reputed plastic backplate on the Saito.72 can be effectively reinforced as shown on attached pic. Have had no problems since on that engine....Cheers/Harald

Looks like a good idea. You can also run a zip tie around the base of the cylinder and the bottom of the intake tube. It's not as pretty as your, but it will work.

For those of us who want the quick way out just called horizion hobby the 82B aluminum back plate to replace the plastic one is Saito part # SAI- 7217A it fits the 72 and 82 series engines it is $8.00 I just ordered 2 to ugrade my 72As martin

oh..SAI- 7217A is the plastic ones. Just the newer style. I already have one....

Great the service rep at Horizion gave a line of bull. said it was aluminium still the same piece martin

Dave guess will have to see what shows up next week I was told by the service rep it was aluminum martin
8 bucks does seem too cheap

AMB, did you ever get your new backplates from Horizon?? Are they aluminum?
