I did it all with parts from a Backdraft 8E. I was inspired by this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuOzJ2jT78Y

So did you use the backdraft motor mount, and redrill new holes. I may have to look into this. There are cheap rollers for hurricanes at rufaster i think it is.

Yes it is a Backdraft motor mount I cut the diff mount part off and did some filing to the bottom to make it sit flat on the chassis. Drilled and countersunk a couple of holes in the chassis and there you have it.[sm=idea.gif]

Aint nothin wrong with drillin and countersinkin'!! As we see posted alot "that's half the fun of the hobby"!!!
I've still never "converted" anything to use nitro from electric, or visa versa, but I've made a few parts from sheetmetal and carbon fiber.. It's cool when it all comes together and actually works as planned!
I wonder if any of the conversion kits they make for like the Kyosho truggy, would work on the Monsoon? (Actually, like anything else, I imagine any of em would work if ya dont mind drillin and cuttin a little..) Maybe your conversion will start a trend with the Redcats and we can see some of the stuff other members come up with!! I'll be lookin forward to it!!

NICE!! I've been contemplating if I wanted to try a brushless monsoon, but i was trying to find a motor mount that would work. Never thought of using the 8e parts with a little modification. Looks like I have some ordering to do!

Hey, just wanted to bring this back to the forefront.. Anyone else converted a Monsoon?? Has anyone found a motor mount that'll bolt up to the Redcat center diff, w/o having to modify it?? Lets hear about it!!
