i was thinking of a quick way to mount and unistall the tip tanks on an S/K L-39

i dont like them permantly attached to the wing couse they will brake sometime..

so this is what i did...with only one move and there are ready to fly...perfect fit ...and no visible holes

Thanks for this post, I've been wondering how to quick release my tip missile racks on my F16, your idea will work great.

That's the same method BVM uses to mount their inboard trailing edge wing fairings on the Ultra Bandit. Works great!

I borrowed this idea from Wade Kloos used on his P-73 model. I used 1/8" dia. carbon rods in two places on each tip. The rod goes into the wing tip 1 1/4". I installed a 3/8" magnet just in front of the the front rod in the tank and the wing tip. I Installed a 1/8" dia. maget about a 1/2" behind the rear carbon rod in both the wing tip and the tip tank.

I haven't flight tested mine model yet but it works very well on Wade's P-73.

What holds them tight George?

Do you adjust the screws for a firm, friction fit & the airstream keeps them there?

John.
