I saw the one that was on the mailing list. That is a good start. I made the comment that I did not like the Aresti symbol, it was too "new school". I like the figures or the style of figures that were used in the old pattern maneuver descriptions in the AMA rule book. I think that they would be more representative of the era. Perhaps someone that is gifted in that area can incorporate the "old school" figure into the logo.
How are the membership cards coming along? Any fresh ideas there?

Here's a simple but "classy" approach... My original is higher resolution and larger. Also, it doesn't look like anyone else's logo.

Visually, I like the three-bladed prop better. I think it goes better with the existing design elements. Do you really like this better? (Yes I know, it's NOT an 11 x 7.5, but I still have a few... I could change it, or I could just eliminate the size)

Greg,
nice work. I agree with you though in that it is not balanced now and that wouldn't be in concord with the image of a pattern plane. Besides, logos are typically balanced or askew but not unbalanced.
What about locating the prop vertically and integrate some other design elements on each side above the top blade - I'm not sure what though. There must graphic elements that pertain to the period that could work with a two blader...
Also, it strikes me as though a Rev Up 11x7.5 ought to be used!
I can send you a picture of one if you need it Greg.

No, actually DB and pretty much all the rest of the Masters class (FAI) pilots only used 3 blade props in 1983, which was the first year noise was measured and limited. It was also the las year of ballistic pattern in FAI. They were used by some (me included) into the next few years of turnaround pattern too.
Other than that last year of ballistic , virtually everyone used 2-blade props. 2-b props are definitely the props used in the ballistic pattern era.

David,
I have a vintage TopFlite 11x7.5 Power Prop (Super M) that's in good shape, but I really don't care for the logo with the 2 blader. I may submit another completely different offering to choose from if I can find some time to work on it.

Like the font and plane elements. Otherwise, it looks like a womb... sorry. Also, the blue is all too overpowering leaving the plane elements difficult to see. Maybe, getting rid of the blue and working on the aerobatic elements more boldly. I think color should be an accent and it shouldn't be monochromatic.
My 2c.

Ok,
Does anyone have a good picture of a classic plane ?
Think about this... logo for a shirt... screen printed or embroidered
plus it will be used on printed material to hand out....
keep those ideas coming....
