Sure, just after I buy the Red Jett Muffler, Evolution releases the Blue Performance muffler for less money. It appears to a Be a Jett Stream in disguise. It still says Jett on the Cast portion.

If you ever run an engine with one of these mufflers, you would see that they are worth the money. A Stock Evolution .60NX picks up close to 3,000 rpm over that of the stock Evolution supplied muffler (I have ran two Evo .60NX's with a Jett Muffler and the Junk Stock supplied muffler). You get what you pay for, and this muffler is built second to none. A Full length tuned pipe will cost you more, and require alot of tinkering, and in the long run not return much more than the Jett muffler.
I would rather pay the dollar's and get this muffler, since it is, engineered, tested, and manufactured in the Goood Old USA, than a Tower Muffler. I have Nothing against Tower Mufflers, since I run several, but you do have rework them a little to keep them together. The Tower mufflers will give you about 1,000 rpm over a stock muffler, but one of these does quite a bit more.

Well this is really great news! I am very glad to see Dub Jett get one of his products into the mainstream hobby distributors. This can only do good for both he and us as glow engine lovers because it will help his bottom line.

And personally, I like the blue!

I too like the Blue much much better myself. I guess telling Horizon about the performance increase on the .60NX was worth it.

Dang, I'm thinkin' one of these motors/mufflers and a Phoenix Strega would make a good, cheap, fun speed plane!

If you are satisfied with 15,000+ Rpm's (Not peak Rpm) running a 10-8, then it would fit the bill very nicely. The throttle responce with this muffler engine combo is awesome. Here is my project that is about 90% done.

VERY Neat install!! I'm putting together a Strega 40 right now with a G-51 and Jett Muffler. If I can't get what I want out of that, an APC 10x8 turning 15K should fit the bill!

I just put an order in for the Evo Tuned Muffler. It is back ordered until mid May so who knows when I will get it but when I do, I'll pick up the motor locally.

Why not just get it straight from Jett. That is unless "Blue" is your color choice, since that is the only difference.

Will this muffler fit a Thunder Tiger or Magnum .46 engine without mods and give performance gains? What prop and what fuel is benefitting?

I have a Jett muffler right now on a TT .46 and it works well. Basically, the Jett muffler is set for an rpm range. You must prop your engine for that range to get the most boost. Somewhere in the 14,500-15,000 seems best, but I could be wrong. A 10-6, 9-7 or maybe an 11-5, depending on your flight preference usually does the job.

I have run Rossi mini pipes and a Jett on a Magnum .52XLS and it is a screamer. I can't speak for the Maggie .46, but it probably will be, too.

The OS .55AX gets a good boost, but the JBA .56 and SK .50 do not. Their timing & porting is not conducive to pipe boost. The JBA .56, on a stock muffler, is right there with the OS .55AX on stock mufflers with most props.

I use 10% Omega, castor blend fuel and a mix of props, APC, MA, MA Scimitar & Evolution.

Yes it will bolt directly on, and will also fit any engine that has 37MM bolt spacing with a Bolt through design.

MOTORMAN37, have you tried any 9" prop like a 9x9 or a 9x10? I'd be curious to know what RPMs you get with those two.

I have not run any 9" props. It looks to me like the Evolution .60NX/Jett muffler = poor man's jett .60L when running a 10" and 11" props.

See, I was not exagerating with my early reports of 15,500 with the 10-8. Is it just me, or is .60NX look stronger than the Jett .60L for less money (SJ .60L R/C with muffler** 15,000 11x6 $325.00).

From what I know and read here, the Evolution line of glow engines are made for Horizon Hobbies, by Sanye in China.

I have no complaint about the quality of their current engines; especially because they are available for such low prices.

What does the recommended yes/no mean on Dubb's test report? I am using a GWS .47 muffler on my 60NX and am getting good speed and great vertical on an 11x7 for my 60 size pattern plane.


Do I need to prop down to get the motor within the RPM "sweet spot"?
14800 with a muffler change sounds good to me, I didn't pick up but a couple hundred with the GWS muffler.
