Is that Evans? I think he's on the RC Groups thread about it. His will blow mine away...I'm just going to put my E-flite Six series 2700 KV in it, but I'm not sure how it would compare.

elderly friend of mine had one of these.....gave it full power, launched and it looped right back into his "beehind"............laughed so damned hard
next flight was a much smarter launch and man it was quick. fun too.
he builds a lot of planes and maybe flies 1 out of 10......sells em all......starts new ones, sells them too
you'll have ablast with this one

Nope, I was talking to a guy on the phone from SC who said he is bringing one. Hopefully Evan can make it this year. His stuff is always fast.

I had the Sokol same kinda plane. I powered it with a Neu 1105/2.5Y 3s2100 30c I don't remember what ESC and Prop maybe a Cam 4.2x4.2. I WAS FAST!!!! It will need to be thrown VERY HARD like a javilen. I managed to get close enough to our radar gun and came up with 174mph. They fly great enjoy

Just a quick update on my Escape pylon racer....Well I have about 7 flights on it now and I am very impressed. This thing is pretty fast even with just the 3s lipo in it, what a pleasure to fly! One thing I figured out though was you need to shut down the motor pretty early in your landing sequence so that by the time its on the strip its slow enough to land...it takes a while to bleed off the speed, but I've pretty much mastered that now. Love this little thing!

After flying this Escape lekkie for a while now.... my Juno F-20 is somewhat become a lot slower than I remember, and I'm bored of it, what a shame for a nice lookin' prop jet, now I might have to sell it or something.
Weird how that happens.
I was at a local fun fly with the Escape on the weekend and people couldn't believe the speed of this thing, it sure draws a crowd.

smoke i have run my eflight 2700 motor on 4 cells for a bit on my funjett. the best prop on 4s has been the APC6x4 GAS prop for thrus and speed. you could run the APC 5.25x6.25 cut down some on 4s. Just keep cutting down till around 650 watts on the ground. i have run it on 1000 watts but could only get about a 20 second run on it before it got to hot.
Oh yeah forgot it will turn that 6x4 prop at 32,000

No kidding, thanks airaptor, I didn't think it could handle it, according to what the instructions said. I was also thinking about trying the eflite BL 15 DF 3600kv motor on a prop, on 4s.
CP this thing makes my F-20 look like a trainer in the air.[:-]

well it may not be good for it but havent lost anypower with it thru magnet flux loss from heat. I do try to keep it cool with lots of air. most of those small fast electics you need to open open the front of firewall where the cooling holes are for the motor and the spinner to alow some air in the motor.
45-50 amps is fine with good cooling if not then trim prop some. with that 6x4 APC gas engine prop it will pull very hard not the fastest but man will it pull. On my FJ it looks like it will go from 20-90 in two seconds lol

You may want to try the HET 2W-23 Like Mike Conner is using. This motor will take a 4 cell (no problem) and up to a 5 cell if you watch the throttle according to their specs, (you are talking around 48K max RPM).
Airraptor is right about the air you keep them cool enough and you can push them harder than spec, heat (and high rpm) are your two major issues. One thing I have know for sure with electronics if you keep them cool enough you can sometimes really push them well beyond their specs.
One thing to keep in mind is that keeping things cool also applies to the battery and speed controller as well, you need good airflow past these components when you are doing high power electrics.

I hear ya on the cooling issue, I think I've got enough airflow thru the fuse right now, everything stays really cool, even after 75% full throttle flight for 6-7minutes.
I'm also looking at the Neu motors,like a 1110x1.5y or even a 1112x2d, but they aren't cheap.
The airframe on this thing is so smooth It has tons of speed potential I think with the right set-up.

NEU motors are the most reliable motors built, but that has the done side you mentioned.
Keep a record of your temperature readings after runs I bought one of those cheap remote temperature sensors at my LHS it really eliminates guess work, and has saved me some heartache as I tend to try to over prop a bit too much in some setups.
Mike managed to rip the wings off of one of his planes with one of theses HET motors, the go for 69$ (plus shipping) they are cheap enough that if you break it isn't all that painful. HE has put well over a KW through one of these motors on a four cell so they do seem to take some abuse, they are only rated for 850 watts on a five cell (750 watts =1 hp so Mike was getting better than 1.25 HP out of a motor that weighs under 4 ounces).
He was using a CC 100 amp ESC and a 4 cell 400mah battery to drive that motor. The CC has a current limiting setup (that you can set via computer) to keep the power down enough to avoid cooking the battery and ESC if you smoke the motor. The controller is an Ice 100 with the dual heat sinks after what mike showed me for data he could get from the ESC I had to get one myself. I bought the same set up to go in my own version of Mikes hybrid Delta Flying wing that he found the Vne of last year.
Hopefully I will have it done soon doing built up elevons for this size airplane is a nightmare, all in an effort to reduce weight.
For what it worth as far as the electrifly motors I have one that is slotted to go in an electric SD that got pushed aside to build the hybrid delta flying wing that I am working on. I have every intention of running this electrfly 28-56 3200Kv motor on a four cell at about 1500 watts if I can keep the temperatures low enough, so that it has a chance to survive.
That plane looks so slick, I can't wait to see what you can get out of it.

Well I was out flyin' the Escape today and a couple buddies set up a couple of markers at 300' apart, one guy at each marker and a stopwatch..... I did 3 high speed passes and it was about 1 second to go 300'.... you guys do the math!
