No. Just as you don't have to be a citizen to join RC Universe. So far, anyway, the principle in most places is that unless there's a rule against something, it's OK to do it. That's why you couldn't find anything: no rule barring non-citizens. Would you expect a different rule?

You ask if I would expect a different rule? Why would you ask that?

Well, your question struck me as odd. I can't understand why it would occur to anyone that membership in an organization like the AMA would be limited to US citizens. Do you belong to any organizations that limit their membership that way? I don't believe I ever have.

Well Top Gunn, it really is none of your business-which mirrors the attitude you chose to exhibit in your reply to my quesiton

Just a simple question and "NO" in response to the email I have recieved that I am a possible racist or do I reside in Arizona!!!!!!!!!!

This is getting strange. You asked me why I wondered why you had asked your question, so I answered. Then you get upset and tell me it's none of my business why you asked. It was your question that began this, not mine. I have no idea what you mean about my "attitude." I don't know of any membership organization (except maybe political parties) limited to US citizens, and that made me wonder why you might have thought the AMA was different. My "attitude" is just curiosity about what you had in mind. Nothing to get upset about so far as I can see. I think you are reading something I didn't intend into my question.

(Just so nobody misunderstands: I have not sent this guy any emails, I have no reason to think he's a racist, and I don't care whether he lives in Arizona (which seems unlikely anyway in light of the fact that he says he lives in Texas).)

Hmm. I was under the impression membership was limited to U.S. citizens over the age of 50 who were landowners and wore dorky hats and pocket protectors.
I could be wrong, tho.

Nope, not a citizen, here legally, and a member of the AMA. You can even belong to the NRA without being a citizen. I am also a member of the AAA, my allegiance used to be either AA or RAC. Too many TLA's... ;-)

And what, pray tell, would you find objectionable about my pocket protector?

Actually its legal for private clubs to discriminate. No men in women clubs, no women in mens clubs, and no priests in swingers clubs. All of those are legal. But not ok for business or government.

Yes that is true, however an AMA Club must conform to the policies of the AMA.

2010 AMA Club Charter Kit (page 10)

"It is the policy of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, Inc. that membership in all chartered clubs shall be available without
regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, age, or disability."
