Major winter build to be started in a few weeks! Comp ARF MIG29
Well, I just picked up the first build I have for this winter season and it's a biggie!
I will be building and painting a Comp ARF Mig 29 this winter for a gentleman in California. He has said he's more than happy to have me post pictures as I go along, but I'll let him say who he is first.
I just picked the bird up down in Sumas Washington this morning and got most of it unpacked. This is a BIG airplane, and amazingly light. After reading the FEJ Mig29 thread and seeing how heavy that jet is and the comments about the Comp ARF one being 45lbs as a twin, I can totally believe that this jet will build to around 45lbs with twin P120's.
There is tons of surface detail, most is pretty good, some will need some cleaning up for sure. I have a few pictures of it from unpacking, once I get going on it I'll post more!

Is it possible to get a weight on it prior to the build. It would be interesting to see the delta weight pre build and post build........
Thanks

And is totally incomparable with other manufactured Mig-29s out there.
I believe its also kinder on the wallet.
The Comp ARF is a stunning jet, but its has competition in my eye.
It will be at Jetpower this year for anyone who wants to look it over.
LGM look forward to watching you build her, its bound to be stunning as are all your projects.

Marc, I think that Lavi was referring to the FEJ Mig29.
On that respect I completely agree with him.

I think Oli was asking if the Mig was the one that David S had for sale a few months ago. It isn't. This is a brand new Mig that came straight from the CARF factory. David, who bought your Mig? I hope it will be ready for CA-Jets. Would be cool to fly both together.
Looking foward to the build thread!

The Mig 29 David S sold was bought by Jorge Escalona, I think the serial # is in the teens.
I bought serial #20 from Dave Mosher.

I'm not sure what my kit serial is. Jeremy, is there any serial number in the box? I'm guessing 90-something.

I'll have to look, I saw some numbers written on a few of the parts, but they were all really long numbers, to the guys that have these jets already, where is the serial number written to find out what production number it is? I'll check the box tomorrow

Mine had a small sticker on the inside of the right turbine compartment. It still said "FiberClassics" though.

Guys,
If it's a newer kit, the serial number is on the packing sheet attached to the outside of the box.
Cheers

Since part of the original sales pitch was that there would only be 100 made and then the moulds were to be destroyed, it should be on a gold plated plaque riveted to the inside of the airframe. I think I read that Keith Seivers (sp) has or did have #98

I would be surprised if Comp ARF ceased production at #100. I think that was marketing spin when the Mig-29 was a Fiber Classics production, now its with the new manufacturer Comp ARF I cannot see any mention on the Comp ARF website that production will cease at the magic #100 mark. I have #27 myself, I'll get back onto it one of these days....

Well, I suspect the jets are no longer numbered, the only serial number listed for this Mig is 661140504
I looked on all the parts, inside the fuse, on the box, and that's the only number listed
