e-station bc-6 charger

I just got the new BC-6 charger and read through the instructions. I am going to be charging a 8000 2s2p pack from maxamps. The instructions say to hook up the balancer leads as well as the battery output plug to the battery. The charger has what looks like a large headphone jack for output. What type of connectors do I need for that? I ordered the battery with female deans. I went through the menus and set it for 7.4V 2S, 5.0A current, 8000mah max charge. Are these settings and connections correct? This is my first lipo and I want to make sure that everything is right before I charge it. Thanks for your help.

RE: e-station bc-6 charger

bobert 38 I'm not familiar with the charger, so I can't help you with questions about it. You'll need to contact the manufacturer about it. As for your setting's for charging goes..........I always and this is just me...........but I charge all of my li-po's at half of the max charge rate........so if it's say a pack that can be charged at 2 amps I charge it at one...........keeps things on the safe side.........but I am going to go with the new FMA cell pro charger soon to eliminate any problems at all...........it's a fool proof charger.

Bob, they are standard 4mm banana plugs that all chargers are standardized on (unless it a balance only charger through the taps, such as the FMA CellPro for example).

Since your battery has Ultra Deans, you just need the standard Ultra Dean charge cable. Here is the part.

Your settings are correct. If you have the Polyquest adapter board, plug the balance tap into the adapter board and then you connect the charge cable from the charger to the deans. This completes the circuit.

Make sure that you have the Lipo selection in the User Setup for Li-poly. Other choices include Li-Ion and Li-Fe.

Set the charger Lipo BALANCE CHARGE. 5A charge rate, 2S pack. Press START.

The BC-6 will validate the cell count and compare it to your selection. If they are equal, press START again and charging will begin.

For all Lithium programing, the charger will do the "BATTERY CHECK" and show you your selection and what the charger detected. You must press START again to commence charging. Just one of many safety features in the BC-6.
