Finally got to run my maxamps 6000hv 2s2p 7.4v today. It's run times weren't what I was expecting. I was under the assumption that LIPO's went 95-100% until they dropped below ~3.2v per cell. Anyhow, after about 3 minutes of runtime the car began to slow (after a charge of 8.4v). It ran for another 14 minutes after that and then reached its cutoff point of ~3.3volts per cell. It went slower and slower as the voltage on the battery dropped. I'm not running anything special in my vehicle and that could be why. I'm running the Tamiya stock rs540 sport tuned motor (i think it's 27t) with a novak 12t rooster speed control. I was expecting run times to be at least 30 minutes. Very disappointed, but again, could be something with my equipment (all brand new).

If anybody has any input as to what I could be doing wrong or whether my expectations were just too high, please let me know. Any feedback would be very helpful. Thanks.

It sounds normal as the batt voltage gets lower and lower and also the motor temp gets hotter and hotter. It may have had a lot more run-time left?

A lot more runtime left how? I thought you couldn't let the LIPO packs go below 3.2volts per cell??? Also, the motor was very hot, the battery and speed control were pretty cool. I'm guessing that the motor is running 100% while the battery and speed control have it easy because the motor is so crummy...????

The Brushed motor is not the way to go if you want longer run times with better performance switch to a CC Mamba System and run our Li-Po's.........you can look at www.rc-monster.com and get alot of good user info.....

If they are 3.5 resting there's nothing left in them. You started at 8.4 (100%) and ran for 3 minutes. If you used at 20C then you used it all. That's impossible with a 27 turn stock motor. It should've run for 20+ minutes. I have an idea that the restin gvoltage is around 8 volts and is an excellent indicator of remaining capacity.

Check you esc settings and make sure that it is correct , some if not set right can ruin your Li-Po's and quick......and yes with what you have you should get 20 to 25 min run times with no trouble........do you know what your amp draw is????? I would run this setup by the guys at RC-Monster they know there set-ups better than I do........I'm a plane guy......

I ran it the other day in a parking lot, vs up and down my street. It drove for 30 minutes and still had 7.7volts left in it. I drove it down my street again after that with a full charge and it emptied quickly. I think maybe the reason it dies so quickly on my street is because i go from 0mph to 25mph back down to 0mph again within 5 seconds. I'm thinking this drains the battery a lot quicker than just running it in a parking lot where I had to brake less... Anyhow, run times are where I want them and I'm all set to go :)
