4.4K Top Qualifier 4400mah 6 Cell Sport Pack Doesn't fit in my E-MAXX

Guys, I'm hoping you can tell me what I am doing wrong here.

I can't get the MaxAmps 4.4K Top Qualifier 4400mah 6 Cell Sport Pack to fit into my e-maxx. If I try to push the batteries down into the tray and attach the hold downs, the wires sheer off at the base.

What am I doing wrong?

Nothing really , the e-maxx has small batt trays designed before the larger cells. Maybe you could trim the end cap plastic and fudge the wires to exit coming straight up instead of out. Possibly the battery tray(chassis) can be cut away too?

There's a reason it's not listed in the "usage list" in the Info section for the pack.

they don't fit in a rustler either. Also, why can't i get them to show 4400 MaH on my charger, (ice) and all my other batteries charge just fine? They show 3600 MaH when fully charged.

My maxamps 4400 only charges to 3800 while my Intellect 4200 takes 4200 +/- 50mah. [:o]

If the batt is full and empty then the perhaps capacity is 3600-3800.

Sounds like my 3800's and 4200's, they are identical capacity. I call them all 3800 for all practical purpose.

I guess I did not see that before I ordered these. I've got a pair of 4000 Top Qualifiers also, and have had almost a year. I'm looking at the E-Maxx battery section now on maxamps.com. Is there anything availible for an e-maxx that is under $90 and not lithium that will fit ok without modification. Those 7 cell packs look good, but do they fit ok?

Also can you suggest any workarounds to help me get the batteries to lay flat in the tray? As it is now I'm zip tying them in on their side.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help and letting me know I'm not crazy. [8D] I've replaced the end caps with some that allow the wires to come straight up instead of straight out. However, that still puts a lot of stress on the wires and some end up sheering off anyways. This is what i tried. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...3&I=LXJZ85&P=K it works ok, but these caps are just a hair too small.

I've thought about modifiying the body tray, but the posts that hold the battery hold downs are directly in the way of the center of the wires on the battery, so I don't think there is much I can do there.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Maybe removing the end cap and straddling the hold-down post?
