Questions about the VXL Kit

Hello,

I've been thinking about purchasing the VXL kit. I have a couple of questions.

I'm using NiMH batteries at the moment, but do plan on trying a lipo out. I want to do a little bit of research before trying them out. Would it be alright if I just stored the battery for a month or two? I wouldn't be using it before storing it.

Reason being, I'm looking to purchase the charger that comes with the kit, and figured I might as well just get the whole kit for when the time comes and I do want to give lipo a go. I'd store the lipo in the sack, inside a fire proof safety box, would that be a good idea?

Thanks alot.

RE: Questions about the VXL Kit

If you do what your talking about it is recommended that you cycle the battery at least once every 30 days and store it at half it's rated capacity. This means that you need to charge it, then discharge it to 9.6 volts then charge back to around the 50% mark. And putting it in the fireproof bag is fine. The only real way a li-po can flame out is if it is charge wrong or shorted out. So there really isn't much of a danger when they are just sitting.

RE: Questions about the VXL Kit

Thanks alot for the reply!

I noticed on the buy page for the kit there's no option to add the warranty for the battery... can it still be purchased, and same for the new hard plastic skin.

Also, say I wanted the 8000 2s instead of the 5000 3s, would I have the option to switch the 2, of course paying the difference.

I noticed people hitting speeds of up to 70 on the 3s, what would the 8k 2s get?

Thanks again!

**edit** Answer is yes, just received an email. Love you guys! Thanks alot!
