Super Brain 960
I recently picked up a Super Brain 960 but now found out that my 3000 mah batteries are not powerful enough to run my brushless system.
I want to get a couple of ener-g 4600 7 cell hump packs. Does anyone know if this charger will charge those batteries?
(The spec on the SB960 says cell capacity up to 3700 mah so does that mean that it wont work?)
Please help a new guy understand.
Thanks

RE: Super Brain 960
The 960 used to have a "time out" parameter for shutting off, which limited the total charge capacity on a single charge to approximately 3700mah. That has been removed, so after the initial couple of charges, it should charge those with no problems.

Thank you.
Is there any way for me to know if mine has that "time out" or not.
I am just thinking... I don't know how long the dealer had it before I got it.... for all I know it could be pretty old.
Thanks

That chart was actually carried over from the 959, so any 960 bought recently should be fine. I think the time out was set for approximately 50 minutes.

RE: Super Brain 960
Thank you.
I am glad to here that!
Mine is maybe 3 months old + how ever long the dealer had it so I would think that it should be okay.
I thought I was going to have to get a new charger which was a dissapointment because I really like the 960.
All in all... it should be fine but If it keeps turning off around 50 minutes or so then there is a problem. (do I have that correct)
Thanks again.
I appreciate your help.

Brand new batteries will false peak the first couple of charges. So expect it to shut off pre-maturely. If it shuts off and the battery is still room temperature, then you know it's not fully charged, hit it again. Do this until the battery is warm to the touch, then it's fully charged. After the first couple of full charges, it should charge in one shot.
