Beginner(ish) Buying Advice

I am looking for a drone for my 12 year old son for Christmas. He is an accomplished fixed wing and helicopter RC pilot - nothing crazy, but competent.

The criteria in what I'm looking for (in order of importance) are:

* Quality - easy to repair, good quality
* Indoor / Light Outdoor Flight
* FPV Capable but I don't want to buy a headset just yet
* Peppy enough to be fun for the long term
* In a perfect world I'd be able to throw the FPV from the drone to an iPhone or external monitor

Does anyone here have any advice on what might be a good choice? We own a Spektrum DX2 Radio so a BNF configuration might be cool.

It's too late for X-Mas, but. for future reference or anyone else looking.

V686G - $40 on ebay, comes with 5.8GHz monitor and camera which also records in HD at 1280x720p. The controller is toy grade, but competent and the drone has good authority outdoors in light winds (at 100% setting) at 40% or 60% its a decent indoor flier. A great one if you have space. It's also very moddable. The above has modded landing gear and added gearbox shields.

Good luck. Bet he loved whatever you chose. ;)
