Default Blade QX2 motor calibration

I'm unable to calibrate my Blade QX2 motors following the instructions (bind with the throttle at full). Does anyone have experience that might help me? Thanks!

Why are you wanting to calibrate the motors? Do they work now? Actually it's not a motor calibration. That's something you really shouldn't have to do. The esc's are calibrated at the factory.

Thanks for the input. The rpms start out quite high (although not so much that the quad leaves the ground), and my QX2 doesn't seem to have nearly as much power as the videos I've seen.

What transmitter are you using? It could be a case of having the throttle trim set too high or not enough travel. Also, I have the QX 1st generation version and in AP mode they climb very slowly even at full throttle. I have a video depicting the difference.

In AP mode mine doesn't seem to have a lot of power but it has just as much lift. AP mode limits the rate of climb and of descent. It will still lift just as much. In Safe mode and Stable mode it will climb like a rocket.

Thanks! I'm using a DX9. My power is comparable to yours and I'll check the low trim next time. All the best!

Glad to be of help. One thing I found out was to watch the descent. Don't let it get too low before you try to correct. I think they put this function into the AP mode to keep it from bouncing around too much while shooting video. I really like it for FPV too. It really makes it fly so much smoother.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKrxU-UTJyw The only thing you need to do is to practice reacting to the lower throttle reaction time. I nearly flew mine into the ground the first time. Then I started to realize the throttle seemed to react a lot slower on purpose so I had to learn to anticipate the slower reaction time. Here's my "Rube Goldberg" QX FPV setup.

I just went back and checked my DX8 and the throttle is at 100% and the trim is in the center.
