Lightbulb HobbyKing SK450 / Dead Cat quad frame

Hello people

last week I crashed my scratch-build wooden quadcopter (1 of the props flew off mid-flight :P).. So.. I had a bunch of electronics without a frame!
This time I went for the SK450 frame by HK, and added the Dead Cat frame conversion to that.. This converts the X quad into a spider layout..

Here is my maiden flight with the newly build quadcopter

A small little update on this project today
I've put 4 LED strips on this frame.. Partly to aid in orientation, but allso because I want to do a night-flight project with it
Today I tested the visibility in daylight of the LED's...

A cat has 9 lives, it just used up one, and just when you least expect it, one of the 8 remaining ones kick in. Or it may just be a zombie cat, waiting for the right moment to get to your brains. I wouldn't trust a "dead" cat with 4 high speed props...

Hi there people

I did me a test, to see if a simpel dampening camera-mount on this DeadCat frame would at least provide jello-free footige ... Here is how that turned out

Can I ask what that Dead Cat conversion consists of?

Does it the replace the whole center sections, everything but the arms, or is it just additional plates the bolt to the top and bottom? Or something else?

Hey I have the same build basically looking to go to the dead cat but what are advantage?
More room to mount stuff buy the look of things but how about stability and agility?
Anyway my build is here.
I like the led strip lighting

Yeah.. on the deadcat frame you have quite a bit more room for the electronics / FPV setup..
Another benefit is that the front propellors aren't in view..
And when flying line of sight, the orientation is easier because it's not symetrical
