When will you be releasing the new 152 twin. I'm hearing all these rumours. Have to replace my 3w with something a bit more reliable, when, when, when

I'll be going to Nuernberg at Feb. 8. They will have the new kids on display.
The engine is expected for deliveries by mid April, but first deliveries always are depending on a lot of uncertain factors.

I'm taking orders though.

I did a combat spitfire with that motor. More than enough power.
MVVS is phasing out the small glow engines in favour of electric outrunner motors with encapsulating outer housing. These are very well built.

I just called MVVS. I can pre-order, but no more than that, because the engine is still in pre-production test stages and not finalized.
Next week in N├╝rnberg we will learn more.
Probable release sequence: 152, 80, 50. Do not expect the 152 to be available before April, and the 50 will not be available before august. These things can't be rushed. Too many small things can go wrong.
Please mail me your personal data if you want to place a pre-order. No strings attached until I placed the order with MVVS.

The 40 still is much in the chrystal ball. MVVS experiments have shown that the 35 has a lot of promise for upgrading. That's all there is.

I hope to see the 35 loose some serious weight! It's 7 more ounces than the 45!
The 58 should be lighter too. The twins have a more solid crankcase and should to be magnesium. In general this hobby relies on power to weight ratios.

Gotcha!
I have 116 engines in my database. ALL 5 MVVS gas engines are in the top 20% regarding the power to weight ratio.

Just one of the very reasons I put a Evolution 45 in my Yak. Really wanted the 58 though but too heavy

I extracted 8 hp at 8000 rpm from the engine with a MTW tuned pipe.
That placed the engine in rank 4 with 4.4 hp/kilo
1 BME 105 twin (4.6)
2 DA 150 twin (4.57)
3 ZDZ 210 twin (4.50)
4 MVVS 58 single (4.40)
5 3W 150 twin (4.3)
6 MVVS 26 single (4.03)

In terms of HP/kg, that makes the 58 the lightest single cylinder gas engine. Second single in the list is the 26cc MVVS engine.

You so have the choices of power, and pay the price in terms of weight. The engine is not too heavy, it is too powerful and you chose one with less power to suit your plane better.

Try and get a hand on the DA 85. I am still looking for a proper power rating on the plane but that should be a real power house.
