Default mvvs .91

what rpm can I expect from the MVVS .91 ? Have run 5 tanks through it according to the break -in instructions. I am using 20% castor and no nitro. The muffler is the # 3255 and 14 x 6 master airscrew prop.

Thanks

Rajiv,

All those who bought this engine from me opted for the #3250 tuned-pipe. This would (after 6+ hours) render about 10,300 RPM with an APC 14x8 prop.

Since this engine is optimized for a tuned exhaust, normal muffler performance on a 14x6 MA would be a bit subdued around 10.7K, or a little more.

Dear Dar,

I do have the tuned pipe/muffler ( the short one) but I thought that for 3D flying the muffler would be a better option, because in throttle lag, which I experienced in the MVVS .49. Currently with the regular muffler I am getting around 7.5 K. I guess that I need to run it in longer or switch props.

Rajiv,

Other people I sold the .49 to are flying 3D with the tuned muffler (it should be extended somewhat for an APC 12.25x3.75W).

You may want to go to a general discussion forum to ascertain what setup they have...

7,500 RPM is way too low for this engine. If the methanol is not pure (water absorption), this can happen.

This prop size at this RPM is a very improbable 0.52 HP... An MVVS .15 (2.5 cc) engine can make more.

Dear Dar,

I switched from the regular muffler to the mini tuned pipe, however there was no noticeable difference. Whenever I tried to lean the engine to get more rpm, it would immediately shut off . The same would occur with the regular muffler. Is there something wrong I am doing ?

Also what would the appropriate header/pipe distance be ?

Thanks,

Rajeev

Hi!
I use a MVVS .91 in a You can do .60 and the best prop (so far) is a 16x4W APC.
My experince is that the MVVS silencer works slightly better than the short tuned pipe, throttles better!
