Broken LED lead on Ignition Module

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I have an MVVS 26 gasser with the MSR ignition module. This is one of the earlier units that has the LED leads sealed in the unit. My newer units have a plug in lead. One of the lead wires has broken at the sealed area. Is there any way to reconnect the lead. I assume I would have to cut some of the "potting" material away to get to the solder area but don't know how.

Any ideas?

yes, remove some of the potting material to get to the printed CB.
Then take care that the lead out is fixed, so no loads can reach the soldered joint.
BTW, this should be done with all leads coming out of the device.

Very good! I will dig the potting material out and repair. Can I use the epoxy glue that we use for modeling to re-pot the repaired wire and the other leads coming out of the unit?

use hotmelt. That will do fine.
