Evo 26 Break-in

Many of the guys at my club who have used gas engines for a long time insist the only way to break-in a gas is with a non-synthetic oil (low ash) for several gallons.
I remember seeing in these forms somewhere that that may not be true on some of todays newer engines.
So my question is: Can I use 100% synthetic (Klotz) right from the get go on my new 26gt engine? And if so, can someone explain why I can or cannot.
Thanks,
geoff

reefhawg:

Read and follow the manufacturers instructions for brerak-in of this engine. Note the teflon coated piston. Your get and should always follow the manufacturers recommendations for engine break-in, after all its their design and build, and they have a steak in providing the best breakin for this engine. When you do, you usually get a much better performing engine than if you just stuck in in a airplane and fly. ENJOY

RE: Evo 26 Break-in

I am one to follow manufacturers breakin procedures. And the MVVS/Evo's indeed say 100% synthetic. Looks like the reason for this is the teflon coated piston.
Thanks
