Are you talking about the .50 sized VII? Or the 1.40?

I have the .50.

It's a WONDERFUL flyer.

The only minor knock against it, is that in the air at throttle up the build in downthrust causes the plane to pull the nose down a bit.

You don't want to play with more up thrust though...

I put a T.H. .46 engine on mine mounted on a dubro anti-vibration mount and a Bisson Pitts style muffler.

It pulls the plane beautifully....

Once together I clear coated the plane with Top Flight Clear coat to protect the finish.

The gear is CF as are the pushrods.

An aluminum bell crank is included for the rudder servo.

It is relatively easy to build assuming you have build multiple ARFs before.

It holds up pretty well too.

I want to order the 1.40 and I was concerned about getting the plane undamaged. I have read a lot about shipping damage. Did you have problems?.

No problems with shipping.

I've purchased over 24 planes from them, which have gone from the west coast to the east w/o any damage.

I had one plane that arrived with damage, which was promptly taken care off.

I just got in two new ones last week.

The planes are double boxed.

The outer box is a heavy shipping box, and there is an inner container.

The inner box has everything taped and affixed to prevent damage.

As long as UPS doesn't beat on the plane ( something I've seen a few drivers do first hand ) there should be no problems.

While I've always received great service from UPS, one day I pulled up behind a delivery truck outside my place of business. The driver had was inside in the back and pulled a medium sized box out from a top shelf over his head. Instead of putting it down he pulled if off the shelf quickly letting it fall to the ground... It was marked fragile... nioe...

I went out yesterday to fly the maiden flight of my Gile 140 V2( The Alien) I have the OS 160 FX w/pitts and it was GREAT. I was able to land it like a Telemaster. I ordered the plane and the r995 servos that they sell and they work great.$12.00 each. I was very pleased with the flight and was able to get in 2 additional flights. I can't wait to fly her again.
Go ahead and order it. You WON"T be sorry.........

That sounds like a perfect combo for that plane.

Plenty of power but not quite so much that you'll rip it apart... while at the same time keeping the weight down.
