Default NEW! Nitro Planes 92" Wingspan Twin Cessna 310

Hello Guy's,

Starting My ARF Build Of The New Nitro Planes Cessna Twin 310 With A 92" WingSpan. This 92" Twin Kit Will Be My Biggest Wingspan ARF And Biggest Twin Yet I've To Lay Hands On, She's Huge. The Kit Can Be Found At "NitroPlanes.com" In The Twin Aircraft Section For $229 Bucks Sweet Price For The Montser Of A Of Twin Plane.

I Know Some Of You Guy's Have Scratch Build Kits Like These, So I'm Now Looking To Order Or Build A Nice Cockpit For The Huge Bird, This Was The First Thing To Come To Mind When I Open Up The Box And Saw How Huge This Fuselage Was, Let Along When UPS Knocked On My Door The Box Had To Be Atleast 6 Feet Tall As I Had To Lean It To Fit Threw The Door.

I've Open Everything Up Everything And There Was No Damages To Any Of The Parts, So Let's Begin The Build Feel Free To Give Your Input And Post Your Beginning Of Your Nitroplanes Twin Cessna 310 Or Any Cessna Twin In The Large Scale Of This One.

P,s Anyone Have Any Leads On Were I Can Purchase A CockPit Of Seats And Etc.? I Have A Video Of The UPS Delivery To The Open Of The Box For A Parts Inspection Video Attached

I wish that Nitro had done something about concealing those servos in the back. On the 421, they're all in the fuse. Do they need to be back there for balancing?

I Hear You Makes Sense But Maybe They Did Do That For The Balancing There's Going To Be So Much Weight Up Front, It Won't Be A Tail Heavy Plane At All

I appreciate the video build but I have some questions , perhaps I am assuming things like your trying to save us the bordom of the really mundane parts of the build but I have to ask .
1)when you built your tail , you glued as you went along and did not measure anything first ?most arfs tubes when glued and not measured are a disaster waiting to happen
2)No measure on wing incidence , or rudder angles , while building on a table tooooo small for the project appearing to make the project rock when you work on it ?
3)No measure of the tail in relationship to the main wing assembly ?
So I am just curious if you did these things and saved us the boreing parts and just went to the build ?

Yeah I Did Alot Of Editing Out To Show Just The Basic Steps That The Book Only Shows But To Also Give You An Idea Of What The Planes Actaually Looks Like In Size On The Building Table I Build On, You Have A Good Point There Will Use The Thought In My Next Build Vid. There's Always Room For Improving .

Thanks My Man!

According to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQPHnGB_odE in the credits Flyboytha1 is sponsored by Nitro Planes I am not quite sure why he keeps avoiding the question and to be honest it would be nice to hear some of the bad sides of these planes. no dought about it they are good planes and a great price but if you look at the build form for the Cessna 421 for example many people came across a few of the same problems and for some one to be "promoting with out promoting" nitro planes especially by showing in multiple videos how easy their planes are to assemble and the amazing fit, finish and overall build quality it would be nice to see him show how to get around some of these trouble areas such as mounting engines .... ect. I understand a reps job and all but I think if you are going to be on this site and give advice and if you are a rep or are affiliated in any way with a specific company you should disclose that information and it would be even nicer to see that if there were areas that needed to be addressed some help with that instead of ignoring the question. Any way just my 2 cents, nice planes and am seriously thinking about getting one but there is VERY little information on these planes, with this site having the only reviews to be found any where, the instructions ect cant be found ANYWHERE which is why this topic is slightly touchy to me, if someone is affiliated, let us know, help us out and don't sugar coat it.

Very well said ferarri. That is probabaly why the editing is being done. This site has sure changed alot in the past month or so and not so for the good of the consumer. Deleting any and all problems that folks have has become very common. Only posts favoring the side of Nitro are let alone. Now the unaware consumer sees nothing but how great they are and none of the bad, this will probabaly be deleted also but hey maybe a few will understand this is nothing more than a paid advertisement for Nitro.

it is better for users to see the problems - so they can be fixed when building the plane! A simple updated manual online wont damage a brand - as long as its promoted and they admit their mistakes - i would be unsatisfied if i built the thing, had a problem and then knew the manufacturer didn't update the manual online

Sorry Guys, I Haven't Been Avoid Question, But I Usally Get PM Qestion That I Answer.

In All Honesty Ever ARF Planes Has It's Faults, But The Biggest Question Is The Built Of Any ARF Would Depend On The Experiecne Of The Builder, Me Personally I Fine Them Very Easy To Build With Out The Book Only When The CG Is Needed, I Fly All My Plane Nose Heavy So I Know For Sure The CG Isn't Off, Also My Biggest Tips Are When You Are Using Epoxy, Any Extra Epoxy Put It In The Coners Where You See Gaps Don't Let It Go To Waste.

Now On The Motor Mount On The 421C Just So Happen It's On My Building Talbe For The Retract Add For An Airshow I'll Be Doing In May, I Personally Didn't Have Any Issue As You May Know I Run Electric Only Also The Mounts Always Fit Perferct As You See In The Picture Below, One Thing I Do Do Is Assembly The Motor To The Mount Then Place It To The Firewall Where It's To Be Mounted Using A Pen To Make A Dot When The Motor Lines Up With The Cover On Making It Centered As Possible, If You Look At The Glossy Areas Thats Where I Paced The Extra Epoxy, There's No Extra Hole's Where I Placed The Motor Mount, Becuase I Got It Right The First Shot, Anymore Question You May Have, I'll Be More Than Happy To Help Out.

Here's The Motor Mount Installation Vid

I Believe Some Of These Troubles Are Also The Builders Mistakes Also, No One's Perfect Right. It's All Learning And Helping Each Other Along The Way.

On To The Motors, Since I Fly Eletric, My Motor Mounts Always Go Together On The First Shot. Lining The Motor Up Then Placing The Motor Cover On To Make Sure I Have A Center Spot Before Drilling My Hole To Fit.

Hello All: I too just finished building this plane. Parts fit was great, instruction manual was sparce, if you don't have much building experience, it may be a bit of a challenge. The model seems to be built well, is huge, and seems to have decent covering. I replaced the landing gear and the control rods, but that is just me. Haven't flown mine yet, though.
I got mine from a hobby shop on rc universe, going out of business, for $160.00 , new in box. Had to find one there because Nitro Planes was out of them for so long.
Anyway, seems to be a pretty good bargain.

flyboytha1:
Well, right now I have 2 Supertigre 61's in mine, but after seeing your video I am thinking about going electric with mine. Was impressed with that section in your videos. Would lessen the possibility of losing an engine, and an airplane. Wonder how it would fly on one engine, or how it would NOT fly on one engine?
Anyway, impressed with your videos, looked quite familiar to me. Hope they fly as good as they look.
Keep up the good work, anxious to see how it flies.
