CMP i20 Corsair Landing Gear
What is the best retracts for the CMP 120 Corsair? Do I need 100 or 90 deg. Rotation?
I called up technical support and the guy I talked to just said they didn’t sell retracts for this model.

Hi, I can't answer you question per se, but here is a link, from a well respected site, that sells retracts for your CMP CORSAIR.

Those Century retracts are GREAT and robust retracts.
It is always better to err on the side of strength when it comes to retracts.
Also beef up the landing gear mount areas with an eye to increasing the area over which torsional forces will be applied.
The latter is a key point that even very experienced flyers may overlook.
It is not enough to make the mount point hard, you must also increase the area over which the leverage forces get applied to.
Simply installing small but longer hardwood strips along the gear mounting area has a big impact.

RE: CMP i20 Corsair Landing Gear
After owning this plane for 3+ years and trying 3+ types of retracts, I can tell you for sure that you should definitely error on the side of strength. The plane flies like a dream, lands slow and stable, but i will be darned if i can keep a pair of retracts working in it. Started with some mechanical cheap crap and those lasted one flight, bought some new robarts and those didnt hold up for long either. I should have just dropped the cash in the first place and saved all the hangar rash on my plane.

Yeah, it never hurts to bump up the retracts you purchase...
e.g. if you have a 6lb plane, buy retracts designed for an 9-11lb plane instead.
