50cc Kantana 85" (blue)

I tried to install wing tube, it fits fuse. Will not go into wing tubes. The tube in the wings are cardboard and fit the alumn. wing tube very tightly. Is there a way I can lubricate the tubes to make them serviceable? I thought (was told by nitro) this was a new design however it seems to be an early design. I thought everone had done away with the cardboard tubes because of this problem. Please respond, Thank you.........Jim

I've resorted to putting a bit of sandpaper on a dowel to slightly enlarge wing tubes, when faced with the same thing.

opjose, Thanks for your response. I found a small bottlecap that is about 1" long and slightly smaller than the tube that I drilled a 3/8 hole thru stuck a 3/8 dowel thru the hole and filled the cap with epoxy, wrapped and glued sandpaper around it, cut the dowel to 18" and used it in my drill carefully....It's still tight but manageable....Thanks again. Barchiola, I wont fly until spring and it is not ready yet. The manual they send shows the other Katana except they list the flying weight as 17 lbs. and it feel it but I havent tried to weigh it. The joints seem to be glued lightly or not at all. I will use a DM 55 engine in mine but I had to cut the firewall back 2" and it was lucky I did as the firewall was keyed into the fuse sides but I pulled it apart without breaking anything(no glue holding it) So, be prepared to do more work than expected if you get it but if you are willing to do that then it can still be a bargin. On the firewall if I hadnt cut it back the carb linkage and needle valves would have been in the firewall and unassebale. If you have any other questions let me know. Jim
