NitroPlanes Customer service

I need to ad my thoughts about NitroPlanes and John in support especially. I had ordered an RTF F-4 Phantom that experienced problems with a glitchy ESC that caused the plane to crash when it quit sending power to the receiver. Thinking it was the supplied radio and getting input from here I tried again with a new 2.4 ghz. radio but with the same result, crash. I contacted John and he was great, to say the least. I sent back the complete plane and NitroPlanes replaced it with a new one. The customer service here is in my book fantastic. John was very responsive with emails, one time within 5 minutes with a reply. I was able to get through on the phones without too much problem, and even tried the live chat with Amy, all good. I have now received my new plane and with 5 very fun and successful flights I am one happy customer. I will definately by from Nitroplanes again.
Amy, John, I thank you both again. Keep up the good work.

Don

RE: NitroPlanes Customer service

Hello. This is my first time trying to purchase an RC plane to get into this hobby. I am extremely excited to finally get started. I have been admiring on the side for years and this year I decided to stop watching and start participating.

I came upon this site and it advertises low price for quality products.

I started looking around the site and there is a lot to take in, so I clicked on the customer support link (live chat). I was really hoping to order one of these planes just to get into it.

What I found was NOT helpful and I am left frustrated by the whole thing. I am going to copy my chat into this, because I am really unhappy with how it went.

I asked for help because I am a beginner and have read the best way to get into RC planes is to ask those that are experienced. I ended up being directed to the intermediate planes, which sadly I am only a beginner.

Please wait for a site operator to respond.

You are now chatting with 'Amy'

Amy: Hi, my name is Amy, how can I assist you?

Adam: Hello.

Adam: I am a first time buyer

Adam: Very new to RC planes

Adam: Can you help me find one suitable for me?

Amy: Items listed as RTF "ready to fly" come with all the necessary equipment to start flying, such as remote, battery, charger, and motor. Items listed as ARF “almost ready to fly” do no come with any electronic components or engine/motor. They are for experienced builders and flyers. A good choice for beginners looking to get into the hobby would be a 4 channel electric airplane/ helicopter.

Adam: So 4 channel RTF

Amy: Yes.

Adam: All of your RTF channel beginner planes are sold out

Amy: http://www.nitroplanes.com/3channels.html

Adam: Yes they all say sold out

Adam: the only thing in stock is a simulator training

Adam: Hello?

Amy: Please wait.

Amy: http://www.nitroplanes.com/brrtfai.html

Adam: What is this?

Amy: It is ready to fly.

Amy: I can recommend any of that planes.

Adam: Is there someone else I can speak to?

Adam: And do you have a more detailed User id besides just "Amy," perhaps I can Id number or something?

Adam: Hello?

Adam: I have been waiting here idle for 5 minutes, I have not gotten anything from you. Hello?

Adam: This is very unprofessional. I am trying to place an order for my first RC plane and I am not getting any sort of customer support from you.

Adam: You linked me to the intermediate section of the site, when I asked for help on a beginner model.

Chat session has ended.

Sorry about this. If you are a beginner please go with 3 channel planes here: http://www.nitroplanes.com/3channels.html

The J3 is a nice plane and you can find video of the plane here: http://www.nitroplanes.com/j3pipercub.html

ADrock that is typical customer serv. from the Nitro chat and call lines. The only help that I have seen anyone get at all if from John. One person on a support forum that is there tech help. Probabaly first time buyer beware from Nitro. First time buyers would do better looking elsewhere until you become very familiar with the building process of planes.
