Extra 330 control surfaces

I have recently purchased the Extra 330 90 size and I am ready to maiden it. I placed an OS 120 four stroke up front for power. I would like to know what the recommended amount of throw is for all control surfaces. I am not a 3d pilot but more a sport pilot. Thanks for your time and consideration.

RE: Extra 330 control surfaces

The manual should have had some initial throws.

Typically I use the manual recommendations as my LOW rates and everything I can wring out of a plane for my high rates.

After the first flight I adjust to suit my preferences.

Recommended rates tend to be somewhat conservative.

With the Extra, just be sure that your C.G. is IN FRONT of the recommended point, and that you have expo on ( say around 30-50% but no more ).

Take the plane up at low rates, get it high quickly and then trim it out.

That was my problem! The manual (being poorly written) did not have any recommendations. If it was written in ebonics or even straight chinese I would of had an easier time understanding them!

Pull out a protractor and allow about 20-25 degrees for the ailerons, about 18-24 degrees for the elevator and about 30-35 for the rudder.

Set your expo to about 40-40-20% respectively, then adjust as needed after flying.
