A10 battery placement

I have an A10 brushless and lipo. The istruction indicale the battery should be placed in back of the front landing gear. This placement does not allow the nose wheel to thouch the ground. There is a large empy compartment in the nose with velcro attached to floor/ Placing the battery forward of the front landing gear allows it to taxi beautifully but I havent tried to get airborn. Where should place the battery?

Put the battery pack in, in either postion as if you were about to fly the plane.

You need to test where the C.G. comes out with the battery in.

Now hold the plane using your two index fingers at the point where the wings join the fuselage.

The plane should balance about 20-25% of the way back from the front of the wing, moving towards the back of the main wing, at the fuselage.

Move the pack around as required to hit his point.

Normally the landing gear is just aft of this point, to permit the nose gear to stay on the ground. The thrust from the EDF's also pushes the nose down a bit.

If the balance point is further back than this, the plane will be uncontrollable.

If it is further forward the plane WILL fly and actually may be a bit easier to land, but it will need more airspeed for landing.
