A-10 Thunderbolt 2

I need an initial position for the Center of Gravity for the A-10. Also would like to have suggested throws for the alerons and elevator.

20%-25% of the wing root chord is pretty good.

The plane comes with it about at 5-10% which is far too nose heavy.

If you remove the canopy area, you see the wooden platform that supports the nose stearing gear.

Normally the battery pack sits in the very front of the plane.

I cut the center area of this platform so I could place 1800mAh LiPo packs just behind the servo.

I used a Dremel tool to open/remove the two center wood support arms so the pack would slide in place.

This puts the C.G. at around 25%, making the plane a MUCH better performer.

Throws are up to you, dependant upon your skill level.

Less than 1/2" on the ailerons are a LOT... IMHO, which is what I have with 50% expo.

For the elevator I have about 2/5" up and down movement.... but I could dial in more.
