Default OS 120 Surpass Ver. 1 valve clearance

I have an old OS Version 1 120 Surpass that I have started running finally the last three years. Ran great until a pushrod bent so now I am going to replace those and check the valve clearance. The manual says between .04 and .10 mm for valve clearance. Is better to be closer to .04 or .10?

Anything in that range is correct. The two feeler gauges in the tool kit OS has available are "go/no-go" sizes. One fits the other doesn't, and that's all that's needed.

I have seen people take a folded-over piece of a cigarette wrapper and use that as a 'feeler guage'. I've done it myself, and had good results. I never did measure it though. But I believe that it would be within range.

Just my $.02
