Default Would camshaft timing one tooth out cause a F/S engine to run hot?

I have an OS 120 Surpass which runs seems to be running excessively hot. If the camshaft timing is out by one tooth could this be the cause?

Not likely, since getting the cam off by one tooth will make it run badly. If the engine's getting too hot, then it's either using a fuel with insufficient oil, not getting good cooling, running too lean, or has too much of a prop and is lugging.
