Default O.S. FS-120SIII - Regulator System Reassembling - Howto

Hey there,

Could anyone tell me how to properly reassemble the regulator system on a 70N carb?

I've been trying but I have some problems with the diaphragm not willing to sit properly.

Anyone got a tip on how to reassemble it?

Thanks,

Jay.

We just carefully stack the parts in place and screw it together. No special procedure, just a lot of experience. You do need to go slowly and make sure that the little rod with the little cone is in its hole or the diaphragm will not seat properly.

Thanks for your prompt answer Bax. I really appreciate it.

I've found a way to reassemble it without pinching the diaphragm.

I placed the back plate on the table then play with the middle section where the diaphragm is stuck in between till it take its position. Sounds stupid, but since the diaphragm takes a convex shape, I dare you to do it straight on the carb. Btw, my engine is 11y old and looks like new, butter smooth bearings, not a single sign of abnormal wear. Used on a GP extra 300S kit for years, perfect match!

I'll take some pictures to show how it worked for me.

Btw, after you talked about a rod, since I had none, I disassembled the regulator of my 91 with pump. I have found no rod either, just an extra small spring between the back plate and the diaphragm.

Thanks again for beeing responsive to our questions, Bax.

Jay.
