Default OS 46 FXi piston/connecting rod oreintation

I'm rebuilding an OS 46 FXi, which includes replacing the connecting rod and piston pin. I think there is a correct orientation for the connecting rod on the crank shaft pin, (bushing beveled side facing the crank and flat or machined side toward the back plate) but is there a correct orientation for the connecting rod to the piston?

If the piston has an arrow on the top surface, it points towards the exhaust port. Otherwise, align the cutouts with the ports in the liner. some pistons go in either way.

The flat edge of the connecting rod goes toward the rear cover.
