Default BAX: Am I in trouble?

While breaking in my 50sx it got hot for a few seconds. Smoke was rising. How dangerous for the health of the engine is that? It only happened one time maybe for fifteen seconds. It's on a Katana GS40 and seems to run good. thx. Jim

I read too much about air in the fuel line of 91fx engines? Is that a real issue? thx. Jim

If any model engine gets hot enough to smoke when you've stopped it, you MAY have damaged it. Many times, though, you get away with it the first time (or even twice!). If the engine runs fine after you've allowed it to cool and you've reset it, then don't worry too much.

some early O.S. Max .91 FX engines had a heating problem at the needle mount on the rear cover. This has been alleviated with a new design of needle and needle holder.
