Default OS 4 cycle 120 III pump Version

I have less than one hour total run time including break-in. Yesterday I ran the engine and heard a clicking sound that appeared to vanish within seconds. I flew the aircraft for about twenty minutes and the sound was not heard while in-flight. This morning I turned the engine over by hand and heard the noise once again. It stopped after about two revolutions using this method. The enine is mounted inverted and I'm using "Byron" fuel, 15% nitro with 18% synthetic oil. I don't what to ruin this expensive engine if internal damage is occurring.

The clicking is caused by the lifters coming off the cam. The cam is very steep, and the lifters will "fall" when the cam moves past them. It's normal. More oil in the fuel will act as a cushion and reduce the clicking.

Thank you, for the fast and technical reply to my concerns. You mentioned that more oil content would improve this condition. Can you reccomend a brand of fuel that would meet this requirement?

No brand. You'll have to purchase additional oil to add to your fuel.

Here's some excellent oil:

KSFP0100 KL-100 SUP TECHNIPLATE OIL QT US$12.02
KSFP1175 BC-175 BENOL 2-STRKE CASTOR PT US$7.76

Hello Bax,

My OS 120 Surpass III is leaking fuel form the pump unit. Good thing one of the club member noticed it while I was taxiing. Can I replace it with the PD-08 from the newer OS 110 alpha? I'm thinking that it might be a newer design which might last longer than the PD-07.

thanks,
tony

Thanks. I'll order the PD-07 now.
