Need some help Bax!!!
I made a bonehead mistake yesterday. I have a OS 46 FXI and i broke the nipple on the needle valve going to the carb.(plastic nipple). I have ordered a new one from Tower Hobbies.
My question is that i glued the nipple back on with CA glue and its holding, but will the fuel cause CA to lose its bond or will it be OK? I just wanna fly in the meantime while waiting for my part to arrive. Thanks for your help, Sean |
RE: Need some help Bax!!!
Nitro in fuel will tend to dissolve the CA you used. If you get the assembly really clean and oil-free, J.B. Weld epoxy will do the job, as long as you don't block the fuel passage. Roughen-up the sides of the area with a bit of sandpaper first, so the glue will hold.

RE: Need some help Bax!!!
Thanks for the 411 Bax!!!! My new needle valve should get here any day now. My plane flew great all weekend on the CA fix. Although I never got far from the runway, too nervous about the glue losing its bond.
Thanks for the reply and happy flying!!!! Sean |
